Mumbai: Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray MP Mr. Sanjay Raut stated in his initial response that the poll panel now exhibits bias after the Delhi High Court denied the former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s request for a stay on the Election Commission of India (ECI) proceedings to freeze the Shiv Sena party name and its election symbol.
Mr. Raut questioned the ECE’s ability to operate transparently. “Our petition was denied by the top court. However, this is a plot to drag us into cases like these. Shiv Sena and our colleagues are still engaged in that legal conflict. Although one of our applications was denied, we remain steadfast in our will and fight. The High Court has ruled that the Election Commission has the authority. He stated, “Our battle is to guarantee that the Election Commission does not demonstrate prejudice.
The Election Commission has also been instructed by the Supreme Court to make a ruling as soon as possible. We have the right to request justice from the High Court and Supreme Court. We’re attempting. However, you are aware of the pressure politics that exist in our nation. However, we’ll visit the Election Commission once more, stated Raut.
“How come our bow and arrow emblem was frozen?” demanded Mr. Raut. “The Supreme Court and the High Court both declared that the Election Commission has the jurisdiction to take the decision on party name and symbol.”
The group that split off from us allegedly demanded the bow and arrow emblem because they planned to run in the Andheri by-election. However, they chose not to run for office. Our symbol is still frozen. This is a petition in relation to it,” Mr. Raut stated.
